The best AI visibility tools for small businesses in 2026

By Matvei Belov, founder of Glowsearch · Updated

Glowsearch, our product, tracks your own questions for $19.99 a month, the lowest paid entry price in this comparison. That is about a fifth of Peec AI's $95 entry price and $9 less than Otterly Lite. You get ChatGPT, Claude (on Pro), Gemini and Google's AI Mode, every question asked twice in real browsers on all but Claude, and an action plan with drafts after every scan. For daily data on a small budget, LLM Visibility Lens starts at $29. Marketing teams get daily data and unlimited users on Peec AI, and enterprises get SSO and dedicated support from Profound. Below are eight tools, their prices and what each includes.

Key takeaways

  • Glowsearch (ours): $19.99 a month, about a fifth of Peec's $95 and Semrush's $99 entry prices. Up to 80 questions weekly or 10 daily, with an action plan and drafts. Start the $1 seven-day trial.
  • Daily tracking costs less than you might think: LLM Visibility Lens is $29 for 25 questions; Otterly is $29 for 15, with a different assistant mix.
  • Compare the same job: 20 exact questions on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Mode cost $95 on Peec, $159 on Semrush and $307 on Otterly.
  • Question counts aren't interchangeable: LLMrefs generates prompts from keywords; Ahrefs and Semrush count checks or prompt-and-assistant slots.
  • Team plans: Peec has unlimited users and daily data; Profound offers enterprise support and SSO.

What is an AI visibility tool?

An AI visibility tool checks whether assistants name your business when someone asks a question. You supply questions such as "best CRM for a small agency," or topics the tool turns into questions. It runs them on a schedule and records mentions, competitors and cited pages.

It isn't a search ranking tracker. There isn't one fixed position in ChatGPT that every customer sees. Results depend on the question, assistant, country and individual answer. A mention score describes the answers collected, not every answer your customers receive.

Tracking also doesn't make an assistant recommend you. Some tools suggest changes or write drafts, but you still have to do the work. Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode are separate surfaces too: coverage of one doesn't mean coverage of the other.

How we compared these tools

We put the needs of an owner with one website first: a low monthly bill, the right questions and a useful next step. This is an editorial comparison of published prices and features, not a hands-on benchmark of every product. We used six checks:

  1. Cost for the same setup. The cheapest monthly plan that tracks 20 of your own questions on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Mode, including add-ons. We show entry prices separately. This compares coverage, not identical update frequency.
  2. Question capacity and control. How many questions the plan permits, whether you can write exact questions, and whether an assistant or a repeat uses another slot or check.
  3. Assistants included. Which assistants the quoted price covers, with paid additions called out. Eight assistants aren't necessarily better if your buyers use only three.
  4. Update frequency and repeats. Daily, weekly or selectable; repeated asks where documented. Daily data on 15 questions is a different purchase from weekly data on 80.
  5. What you can act on. Whether the plan includes recommendations, a prioritized action list, drafts or reporting connections. We don't assume a competitor only shows scores when it also recommends actions.
  6. Trial terms. Published cost, duration and restrictions where we have them. Missing terms stay missing; a free trial with a fixed prompt set isn't equivalent to testing your own questions.

We compare published prices and features for a small business with one website. It isn't a points score. Glowsearch is our product. It appears first because it has the lowest published monthly price for the 20-question setup above, and every competitor's price links to the vendor's own page for you to check. For a wider price list, use our same-job comparison of 20 tools. If you also want tools that write or score your pages, see the best AEO tools.

The tools at a glance

The fourth column prices the 20-question setup above. Entry-price ratios are rounded to one decimal place. "Not equivalent" means the product doesn't sell that setup on a published self-serve plan.

The best tools for each kind of buyer

Glowsearch: $19.99 a month with an action plan and drafts

Best suited for: an owner with one website who wants to know what to change, not just a score. $19.99 a month for tracking, a plan sorted by priority and drafts to help you act. Save $75 a month against Peec's $95 entry plan, or $9 against Otterly's $29 entry plan.

Lite is $19.99 a month for one website: 80 questions once a week, 40 twice, 25 three times or 10 every day. Every question is asked twice per scan on the three assistants, in real browsers, signed out and from your country. For our 20-question comparison, choose three scans a week.

Every scan shows who was named instead, cited pages, and an action plan sorted by priority: sites and lists to get onto, Reddit and forum threads to join, pages to write or improve, wrong facts to correct and crawler fixes. A drafting button writes the email, forum reply or page text for each action. Lite includes 10 AI drafts a month. Pro is $99.99 for three websites, up to 130 questions each weekly or 15 daily, plus Claude through its API on 50 questions weekly per website.

Use your own questions from day one, including during the trial. Start your seven-day trial for $1.

LLM Visibility Lens, best for daily tracking on a small budget

Best suited for: an owner who needs daily numbers on 20–25 questions, including Google's AI Overviews.

Starter is $29 a month for 25 questions on ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews, checked daily. It writes questions from your website and lets you add your own. That covers our comparison setup without an add-on.

Where it stands out: daily tracking on more questions, with AI Overviews included. Starter has no action plan; Pro adds a monthly one and a seven-day free trial. There's also a free plan with five questions checked weekly.

Otterly, best for daily tracking with Perplexity and Copilot

Best suited for: a business with 15 priority questions whose customers use Perplexity or Copilot.

Otterly Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts checked daily on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Gemini and AI Mode add $9 each on Lite, bringing that plan to $47. Lite can't add more prompts. Standard starts at $189 for 100; with Gemini and AI Mode it costs $307.

Lite includes unlimited team members, 1,000 GEO URL audits a month and three recommendations a week. Standard adds API access and a Looker Studio connector. A free trial is available.

Where others are better: the jump from 15 prompts is large. Peec supplies 50 daily prompts on your choice of three assistants for $95. Glowsearch gives you up to 80 weekly questions on ChatGPT, Claude (on Pro), Gemini and AI Mode for $19.99. See Glowsearch vs Otterly.

LLMrefs, best for broad topic coverage

Best suited for: an SEO team that thinks in keywords and wants many generated prompts across assistants.

LLMrefs has an All in One plan at $79 a month, marked as a limited-time price. It generates up to 500 prompts from keywords and tracks them weekly across all the assistants it supports, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot.

It includes unlimited projects and team members, an API, CSV exports and support for 20+ countries. You can sign up without a card.

Where others are better: you aren't tracking the exact questions you wrote, so its 500 prompts aren't interchangeable with 500 user-chosen questions. Choose a tool with prompt control if wording matters to your test, or a daily tool if weekly reports are too slow.

Peec AI, best for marketing teams that need daily data

Best suited for: a team that needs 50 or more daily prompts, shared access and reporting.

Peec Starter is $95 a month for 50 prompts on any three of ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot. Each extra assistant is $35 on Starter. It covers one project and one country, with unlimited users. Pro is $245 for 150 prompts, two projects and three countries.

Peec also has sentiment and share-of-voice reporting and recommended actions: prioritized next steps across your site, editorial coverage, reference sites and communities. It isn't just a score dashboard. A free trial is available.

Where others are better: a single website may not need that volume or reporting. Glowsearch costs less and includes drafts for actions. Peec gives teams daily coverage and shared access. See Glowsearch vs Peec AI.

Ahrefs custom prompts, best for a flexible check allowance

Best suited for: someone who wants to set the scan frequency and budget in individual prompt checks.

Custom prompts Basic costs $50 a month for 2,500 prompt checks. It is sold without an Ahrefs subscription. You can choose a schedule from daily to monthly. Our setup of 20 questions on three assistants daily uses 1,800 checks in a 30-day month.

Where others are better: a check allowance takes some planning. More assistants and more frequent checks use it faster. LLM Visibility Lens has a simpler fixed daily allowance at $29; Glowsearch includes an action plan at $19.99. If you already use Ahrefs, check your account's allowance before buying more.

Semrush, best for teams already working in its toolkit

Best suited for: a marketing team that wants AI tracking alongside its existing Semrush work.

The AI Visibility Toolkit is $99 a month with 25 prompts. Tracking the same question on another assistant uses another prompt slot. Our setup needs 60 slots, so it requires the $60 add-on for 50 more: $159 a month for 75 slots, checked daily.

Where others are better: 25 slots aren't 25 questions on every assistant. Peec covers 50 questions on three assistants for $95, and Ahrefs sells 2,500 checks for $50. Check your current Semrush package, but don't assume an existing SEO subscription includes this setup at no extra cost.

Profound, best for enterprise requirements

Best suited for: a large brand that needs SSO, dedicated support and broader measurement.

Profound has custom Enterprise pricing and daily tracking across up to nine assistants. Its published features include AI crawler traffic analytics, content agents and enterprise support. Those are different needs from checking one small website.

The free seven-day trial tracks 50 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews. Profound recommends the prompt set; you can't change it during the trial.

Where others are better: there is no published paid price to budget against, and the trial doesn't test your own questions. A self-serve tool is easier to price for a small business. If SSO and enterprise support are requirements, ask Profound for a quote. See Glowsearch vs Profound.

What our own data shows

In our scan of 628 answers about local services, we asked each question three times on each assistant. Gemini and AI Mode named about half their businesses in only one of the three answers, ChatGPT about a quarter. That's a reason to repeat measurements before treating a mention as a stable result.

It's one first-party scan, not a customer success story or proof that one tool improves visibility more than another. Our other published dataset is the 20-tool price comparison: a way to compare the bill for the same coverage, with update frequency stated separately.
