Privacy policy

This policy covers Glowsearch (the website at glowsearch.app and the app), run by ResearchLnc ("we", "us"). It applies to people who visit the site, sign up, or receive emails from us. When this policy says "your site", it means the website you add to Glowsearch.

What we collect and why

Your account

When you sign up we store your name, email address and sign-in details so you can log in and we can reach you about your account. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, our authentication provider. If you sign in with another account, such as Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from it, nothing else.

Billing

Payments are handled by Creem, our merchant of record. Your card details go straight to Creem and never reach our servers. We receive your plan, the state of your subscription, and enough to match a payment to your account.

Your sites and results

To do its job, Glowsearch stores what you set up and what the scans find:

• your site's address, name and description, and the questions and competitors you track;
• the answers the AI assistants give to those questions, the businesses they name, and the pages they cite;
• the actions, drafts and site checks we produce from them, and what you mark as done;
• any extra email addresses you add to receive reports.

To build these, we read public pages: your site, and the pages the assistants cite. We don't log in anywhere on your behalf and never need access to your accounts, your CMS or your analytics.

Emails

We send account and billing emails, and a report after each scan if you want it. Every report has a one-click unsubscribe link. We don't send newsletters without asking first.

Technical data

Like any web service, our servers log requests, including IP addresses, to keep the service running, prevent abuse and enforce usage limits. These logs are kept for up to 40 days.

Cookies

This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies, and we don't track you across other sites. The app uses cookies only to keep you signed in.

How we use AI

Glowsearch works by asking AI assistants (ChatGPT, Gemini, Google's AI Mode, and Claude on Pro) the questions you track, and by using AI models to read the answers, write suggestions and draft text for you. What we send them is your questions, your site's public details and the public pages involved. Please don't put personal information in your questions.

We don't use your data to train AI models, and we don't sell or give it to anyone who does.

Who helps us run the service

We share data with these providers only as far as each needs it to do its part:

• Clerk: sign-in and account management.
• Creem: checkout, subscriptions, invoices and tax.
• Cloudflare: hosting this website and the app, and protecting them from attacks.
• Our server and database hosts: running the service and storing its data.
• Hatchet: running scans and other background jobs.
• Resend: sending emails.
• OpenRouter and the model providers behind it (such as OpenAI and Anthropic): reading answers, suggestions and drafts, and asking Claude.
• Browser Use and DataImpulse: the cloud browsers and connections we use to ask the assistants and read public pages.
• Exa: web search, for finding competitors and contact pages.

Apart from these, we share your information only if the law requires it, for example a valid court order, or to protect our users or ourselves from fraud and abuse. We'll tell you about such a request unless we're legally prevented from doing so. If Glowsearch is ever sold or merged, this policy will continue to apply to your data.

We never sell your personal information, and we won't name you or your business in our marketing without your permission.

How long we keep it

• Delete a site and its questions, results, actions and drafts are deleted straight away.
• Ask us to delete your account and we'll delete everything tied to it within 30 days. Copies in backups are gone within a further 30 days.
• We keep billing records as long as tax law requires, which can be several years.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• give you a copy of it in a common format;
• correct it if it's wrong;
• delete it;
• stop using it for a particular purpose, or object to how we use it.

Write to hello@glowsearch.app. We'll answer within 30 days and may ask you to confirm it's really you. If you're in the EU or UK and aren't happy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections (TLS). Access to production data is limited to the people who run the service and is used only to support you or keep things working.

Where your data lives

Several of our providers are in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where data leaves the EU or UK, we rely on our providers' Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Children

Glowsearch is a tool for businesses and isn't meant for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes and questions

We'll update this policy when our practices change, and change the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll email account owners before it takes effect.
