Does ChatGPT recommend your business?
We ask ChatGPT three questions your customers would ask, in a real browser, and show you whether it names you and who it recommends instead.
Free, no sign-up. Takes about 3 minutes.
What this checker does
When someone asks ChatGPT for a recommendation, it names a few businesses. This free AI visibility checker shows whether yours is one of them:
- We read your homepage and write questions a customer might ask before buying from you, like "best invoicing app for freelancers" or "good plumber in Austin for an emergency". They never include your name: the point is to see whether ChatGPT brings you up on its own.
- We ask ChatGPT in a real browser, signed out, from the US, each question in a new conversation. That's what a new customer sees: not your own ChatGPT, which knows your history, and not what an API returns.
- You see the answers: whether ChatGPT named you, who it recommended instead, and the links in each answer.
It's free and needs no sign-up. Each website gets one fresh check a week; checking it again within the week shows that check's result.
How to read your result
Named in 0 of 3 is common, especially for smaller businesses. AI assistants lean on what other sites say: lists, reviews, directories, Reddit threads and articles. If those don't mention you, the assistant has little to go on.
Named in some answers usually means you're known for part of what you do. Look at the questions where you weren't named, and at who was: their sites and the pages that mention them are the gap to close.
Three questions are a snapshot. ChatGPT's answers change from one ask to the next, and other assistants answer differently. A business named once in three may be named twice next time. To see where you really stand, you need more questions, asked more than once, over time.
Why ChatGPT recommends some businesses and not others
Assistants with search, like ChatGPT, look up pages when they answer and recommend the businesses those pages mention. The businesses they name tend to be:
- On the lists people read: "best of" articles, comparison pages and industry directories.
- Talked about: in reviews, on Reddit and in forums.
- Clear about what they do: a homepage that says what you sell, who it's for and where, in plain words.
- Readable by AI crawlers: if your site turns them away, they can't use it. The AI crawler checker tests that.

From one check to a plan
This check covers three questions on one assistant, once. Glowsearch tracks the questions your customers ask on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Google's AI Mode, asks each one twice on every scan (Claude, on Pro, once, on 50 a week), and shows who gets named instead of you and which pages the assistants cite. After every scan you get an action plan sorted by priority: sites and lists to get onto, threads to join, pages to write or improve, wrong facts to correct and crawler fixes, with a button that drafts each one.
Lite is $19.99 a month, and every plan starts with a 7-day trial for $1. See pricing, or how Glowsearch compares with other AI visibility tools.

Usually because the pages it reads when it answers don't mention you, or mention others more. Check who it named instead and which links appeared in its answers: those are the places to be.
Yes. Enter their website and you'll see whether ChatGPT names them for questions about their business.
Your own ChatGPT knows your history and often your business, so its answers aren't what a new customer sees. We ask in a clean session, signed out, and pull out every business it names and the links in each answer.
The free check writes them from your homepage. With Glowsearch you track your own questions, up to 80 a week on Lite.
